HealthScore Test™ for Dogs
Not all dogs age the same. The EpiPaws HealthScore Test measures health markers across the genome and calculates your pet’s internal age (how old they seem!) also called biological age. If tested multiple times, your pet’s internal aging rate can be calculated. From these markers, you’ll be able to see if your pet is aging well or if there is an opportunity to help them age better. Being on top of aging means the potential to stay healthy longer.

Technology: The EpiPaws HealthScore measures DNA methylation from across the genome to assess your pet’s aging status and health status. DNA methylation can provide insights into how lifestyle factors affect health and aging rate. The most value is obtained through multiple testing.
By tracking biological age over time, trends in aging rate can be connected to changes in lifestyle and other environmental factors that affect health.
Accuracy: DNA methylation levels at thousands of genes were analyzed in healthy and sick dogs across the dog lifespan, allowing us to detect patterns of healthy or unhealthy DNA methylation. Using the DNA methylation information at these genes, we provide a prediction of your pet’s health status, as well as an estimated biological age.
Over time, our datasetset will grow and we will be able to provide more precise and actionable health insights. Because these markers change over time, it’s important to measure DNA methylation on a regular basis. Each animal could exhibit a different amount of variation in their markers.
